Research

My research revolves around the intersection of new media, PR, and risk communication. I am intrigued by how new (i.e., digital/social, immersive, interactive) media reshape the landscape of public relations and influence audience perception in high-risk scenarios (i.e., critical industries, armed conflicts, and global pandemics). Second, I am also keen on exploring information verification in combating mis and disinformation, focusing on the integration of theoretical frameworks with artificial intelligence (AI) applications to enhance public resilience to false narratives.

My research utilizes a wide range of traditional and computational quantitative and qualitative methods. For example, I employ quantitative analysis software (i.e., Lancbox, SketchEngine, MaxQDA) in in-depth interviews and corpus linguistic analysis. I apply programming languages (i.e., Python, R) in my quantitative, machine learning, and text mining studies. Regarding statistical models, I am well-versed in utilizing the models of ordinary least squares (OLS), generalized linear model (GLM), generalized linear mixed model (GLMM), zero-inflated negative binomial regression (ZINB) model, decision tree, and cluster analysis in furthering my research projects.
