About me

Research: My research revolves around the intersection of new media, public relations (PR), and risk communication. I am passionate about how new (i.e., digital/social, immersive, interactive) media reshape the landscape of public relations and influence audience perception in high-risk scenarios (i.e., critical industries, armed conflicts, and global pandemics). Second, I am also interested in exploring information verification in combating mis and disinformation, focusing on integrating theoretical frameworks with artificial intelligence (AI) applications to enhance public resilience to false narratives.

Professional Experience: With over 10 years experience of practicing both journalism and public relations, I have honed my skills in broadcasting news production and strategic communication campaign management. I worked as a broadcast independent journalist/producer at Vietnam’s National Television, where I produced various shows, including “New Energies News” and “Science and Technology News” for over six years. As a public relations professional, I have successfully coordinated multiple nationwide campaigns for social change in Vietnam.

Teaching: I have taught several classes at the William Allen White School of Journalism & Mass Communications at the University of Kansas. I have had the opportunity to share knowledge and expertise at various universities, including The Broadcast College I, The University of Social Science and Humanities – Hanoi, The Academy of Diplomatic, and The Posts and Telecommunication Institute of Technology – Hanoi.
